Artois methanisation : a site for the recovery of organic waste

Site de méthanisation des déchets organiques

Located in Graincourt-les-Havrincourt in France, the Artois Methanisation site is a responsible solution for industrialists and local communities producing organic waste.

SEDE is a specialist in multi-outlet waste treatment and is developing a complete service around the digestion of organic waste.

Anchored in the Cambraisis, the Artois Methanisation site is sized to treat multiple types of waste of various with varying rheology and viscosity.

Key figures of Artois Methanisation

32 000 t/year of treatment capacity

7 000 t/year of digestate

8 000 MWh/year

or the equivalent of 6,500 inhabitants supplied with electricity

2 000 t/year of greenhouse gases avoided

Why opt for the digestion of organic waste?

Digestion makes it possible to respond to the dual problem of treating fermentable waste and producing green energy. Since January 2012: "Large waste producers are required to sort and recover organic waste".

French legislation also requires that 23% of electricity consumption in 2020 be generated from renewable energy. Industrialists and communities are therefore encouraged to sort their waste and change their type of electricity supply.

A complete and reliable solution for waste treatment

With a perfectly integrated waste treatment solution, SEDE allows you to achieve many goals for your community :

  • Adapting collection logistics to customer needs
  • Treat all bio-waste streams by working with an approved partner to treat category 3 animal by-products
  • Proposing dual agronomic and energy recovery of waste
  • Minimising logistical costs with optimised logistics
  • Reducing your community's environmental footprint

Collection, treatment and digestion of food bio-waste

Energy recovery (production of green energy) and agronomic recovery of bio-waste to meet regulatory obligations

A complete turnkey service

Digestion is a natural biological process of degradation of organic matter in the absence of oxygen by methanogenic bacteria to produce biogas and a residue called digestate.

SEDE thus offers a complete service around the digestion of bio-waste :

A centre of expertise :

Analysis of waste composition and biogas production in pilot plants to validate the relevance of waste for digestion.

Deconditioning :

Separation of packaging (PP, PET, HDPE bottles, aluminium cans) from organic matter.

Biogas recovery :

Conversion into heat and electricity.

Digestate recovery :

(standardised compost).
